What is an oral tradition?
An oral tradition is a message that is orally passed down from one generation to another in the form of speech, song, fable, folktale, epic histories, proverbs, sayings and narrations. These oral traditions help us make sense of the world, teach adults and children about their culture. They make it possible to pass things down without writing something down.
